I assume it is difficult to choose which temples or shrines it'd be best to go to, especially for first time travelers to Japan. Therefore, this tour provides the essential Kyoto spots to visit from 8AC to 19AC, for first time travellers, who should like to walk a lot! Personally, I was born & raised in Kyoto but hadn't paid much attention to the fact that the city was an old capital of Japan. There was even a small temple near my house, that I used as nothing more than a good place to play "hide and seek" then. Years later, I got old and developed an interest in the history and culture of Kyoto, having learned more about it through UNESCO World Heritage Academy and Kyoto Tourism & Cultural Examinations. Therefore now, I think that what better than I, as a local Japanese, share the beauty of my city with you! I will drop you off at a popular Food Street or any ohter places. The following itinerary could be customized to best suit your preferences:
·The tour begins after meeting at JR Kyoto Station. ·Around 30 mins after, we'll reach ①Fushimi Inari Shrine (8AC), where we'll go across a tremendous number of Torii gates! ·An hour later, we'll visit ②Sanjyu Sangendo where we'll see a spectacular view of 1001 Kannon Buddas from the Heian period (12AC). ·Then for next 30-40 min, we'll walk toward ③Kiyomizu Temple (8AC) where we'll see the splendid scenery of Kyoto, and have a quick lunch. On the way, we'll stop by ④Hoko Temple (17AC) where we'll look at the belfry with a shady history. ·An hour and a half later, we'll visit ⑤Kennin Temple where we'll admire the famous drawings of the Thunder & Wind Gods in the Kamakura period (13AC) and the Dragon. On the way, we'll quickly stop by ⑥Yasaka-Koshindo and ⑦Hokan Temple. ·An hour and a half later, we'll take an bus from popular ⑧Gion District to ⑨Nijyo castle (19AC) where we'll discuss the time of the restoration of the imperial rule. ·Our tour will end an hour later, at the ⑩Nishiki Food Market.
