There is a survey for foreign tourists after visiting Kyoto: What were your favourite sightseeing spots in Kyoto? The result was Kiyomizu Temple, Fushimiinari Shrine, Bamboo street & Togetsu bridge in Arashiyama, Nijyo Castle, Kinkakuji Temple, Gion District, Nishiki Market and so on. What if there is a tour time-efficiently covering the most of them within a day ? Unlike Tokyo, Kyoto does not have convenient subways, so that we must efficiently use a city bus, city train, JR and Keihan trains, or simply charter a cab. Even if you had high IT literacy, I assume it is difficult for foreign tourists to go them by a public transportation. I am a local guide familiar with such public transportation and take you to must-see places at each sightseeing spots. The following itinerary could be customized to best suit your preferences: for example, go to Kinkakuji Temple instead of Nijyo Castle and etc.
·The tour begins after meeting at JR Kyoto Station or your hotel. ·Around 30 mins after, we'll reach ①Fushimi Inari Shrine (8AC), where we'll go across a tremendous number of Torii gates! ·After taking a train, we'll visit ②Kiyomizu Temple (8AC) where we'll see the spectacular scenery of Kyoto city. · Then, stopping by ③Sanneizaka Slope and ④Nineizaka Slope, we'll walk toward ⑤Gion district. On the way, we will quickly visit ⑥Yasaka Shrine, very popular traditional shrine that is famous for Gion Festival in the summer. Then, we may have a quick lunch around there. ·An hour and a half later, we'll take a bus from Gion District to ⑦Nijyo castle (19AC) where we'll discuss the time of the restoration of the imperial rule. ·Then, using a city train and JR train, we will go to ⑧Arashiyama. There is a couple of places to visit ⑨Bamboo Street and ⑩Togetsu bridge. We may have a quick maccha tea break. ·An hour later, we will go back to Kyoto Station or your hotel or drop you off at Nishiki Food Market.
