Yanagawa and Yame city are located about 60km away south of Fukuoka. Yanagawa is famous for river boat riding. A boatman controls the boat without a motor using only an oar that needs tactful skills. At the end of the boat riding is "Ohana" that was a residence of the lord of Yanagawa, built in 1910. It's so fresh and safe that you just pick up and eat them without washing. They are grown in the high containers at the waist level so that you don't have to squat to the ground. It's fun to count how many you ate at the end!

Full Day Tour to Yutoku Inari Shrine and Sake Breweries in Saga pref from Fukuoka with a licensed guide

Yutoku Inari shrine is located in Saga prefecture, which is much less populated. On the way, you can see local small farms, traditional Japanese-style houses that you cannot see in downtown Fukuoka. The main hall of the shrine is located up on the hill, which gives you a wonderful view. In spring time, early May, you can also enjoy azaleas and wisterias. Hizen Hamajuku has several traditional sake breweries, and you can see those traditional structures. You can also learn how sake is produced (booking needed). Sake brewers explain in Japanese, but with a guide, you do not have to worry about it. Of course, you can taste and buy sake!

Full day private tour in Hita from Fukuoka

This can be a very interesting tour for whom love an old town atmosphere and nature. We hire a taxi or a van and visit Hita city where you can enjoy walking in a small old town and then visit a small pottery village which has a history of more than 300 years. We eat delicious Yakisoba(Hita's specialty fried noodle) or grilled eel over flavored rice for lunch in the old town. You can shop at some small cute stores for souvenirs and Sake brewery where you can taste some sake.

You will also visit a small pottery village.  We visit some potteries and see how they work. This small village is surrounded by the mountains, it is very quiet and what you hear is only the sound of wood mortar that is crashing the earth in order to make clay. I find this place very peaceful and am sure you will love it. If you find your favorite pottery, you can purchase directly from them. We also visit a small ceramic museum and learn their history. (closed on Wednesdays)
