Kamakura is an ancient town where is not so far, about 30min from Yokohama and 1 hour from the center of Tokyo by train. Kamakura was also the place where the first government ruled by "samurai warriors" was born in the late of 12 centuries. You can visit temples and shrines including Kamakura Great Buddha. I will bring you a feeling as if you are in "meditation" with the old ancient city in this tour. Kamakura is getting popularity more and more especially since TV drama "The 13 Lords of the Shogun" as its title is being broadcasted on NHK TV program. You feel the spirit of samurai warriors in the ancient city!
• 09:30 - Meet up in Kamakura(JR Kamakura station, east exit) • Kamakura Great Buddha: 12meter high statue built during middle of 13th centuries. • Hase temple:l 11faces Kannon(Buddhist of deity) statue and nice oceanview from the hill • Sugimoto temple: Oldest temple, early stage of 8th century in Kamakura and famous for the moss stairs. • Houkokuji temple: Famous for the "bamboo forest"and you can relax with meditation and experience drinking "Matcha" green tea if you like. • Tsuruoka Hachimangu Shrine: Landmark shrine in Kamakura built in 11th centuries which was guardian for samurai warriors. Lunch in somewhere • Komachi Street: Shopping street stretching from near Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine to JR Kamakura railway station. Many restaurants and souvenir shops gathered. • 15:30 Break up in Kamakura
