Although Sapporo does not have such a long history as Kyoto or Tokyo, you can experience some aspects of Japanese traditional culture such as the tea ceremony, wearing a kimono or Zen meditation. Get a taste of Japanese culture through this tour.

We will visit Chuo-ji Temple where you can join a Zen meditation group. The group members are all ordinary people (not monks) who enjoy meditating on Sunday morning. The duration of this meditation is two and a half hours. Then, we will go to Hokkaido Shrine by subway. You will see and feel the atmosphere of Shintoism, Japan's indigenous religion, in a rich natural setting.

If you had interesting in kimono, I will take you to a rental kimono shop where special kimono dressers help you to wear kimono and there you can also experience the tea ceremony while wearing a kimono. You can also visit a few tourist spots wearing kimono. You will have forgetful memory through this tour.

Otaru flourished as a trading port dealing with coal and herring and a port serving Sakhalin's development during the 1920'-1940's. Because of herring fishing, glass-making was a very important industry in Otaru. First you will visit a glassware studio where you can experience blowing glass to make your own glassware. Your original handmade glass will be one of the unforgettable memories of your Otaru trip.
