Did you know that with just a short drive from Rome, you can find a small picturesque town called Tivoli? It is home to 2 UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Villa d'Este & Villa Adriana. On this tour we'll explore them together! Villa d'Este is an extraordinary building from the 15th century, of a noble family and powerful church members. The interior walls of the house are adorned by frescoes usually representing mythological scenes. The small nymphaeum present in the villa bring us back to Renaissance times. However, the beauty of the place is not limited to the interior of the house. We'll be exploring the gardens with its luscious fountains, some belonging to Bernini. We will then stop for a short lunch break and continue on to Villa Adriana, an archeological park where we will have the chance to admire the ruins of the famous mansion built for the Roman emperor Hadrian. We will learn how passionate he was about art and culture. Throughout our tour, we'll be driven from place to place by a friendly driver.
