I always have been amazed about the glorious past of Syracuse. In this tour I would like to take you in a journey into the past to rediscover the most important monuments of each age, local myths and cultural points in general.

In the Archeological Park of Neapolis we will visit the public area of the Greek and Roman age, with the Acropolis, the Greek Theatre, the big Altar of Hieron II, the Roman Anphitheatre and surprising stone quarries as the immense Ear of Dyonisius. After the archeopark we will go to walk in the suggestive little island of Ortigia that ha always been the cyty-centre of Syracuse, lived since prehistorical age. Here we will see monuments from any age: castles, churches, monasteries, noble palaces but also the daily life with the fish and vegetalbles' market and the fisherman's boats.

This tour combines the best you can visit in one day tour. We start the tour from any place the client wish and our first stop will be the medieval village called Savoca. Savoca it's a beautiful village at approx 40 min from Messina, it's well known because Coppola used it as main location for the famous movie the Godfather, but the village moreover has some nice sites to visit (the 12th century limestone arch, the Pentefur Castle, the amazing view of the volcano Etna and more). We spend around 1 hr to enjoy the beauties of the place and than we leave. Second destination it's the volcano Etna, we drive approx 1 hr to reach it; along the way we enjoy stunning views of the coast and the wineyards. We stay no more than 1 hr, visiting some extint craters and having a walk around. Our 3rd stop is Taormina, the pearl of the ionian sea, one of the most beautiful town in Sicily; here you'll have approx 2 hrs of free time to visit the amazing town with a guide/map, then back to the final destination for departure

This is an emotional and historical tour, to understand how hard has been living in war times, and what has been the impact of the first landing of the allied in Europe in 1943, a precious witness that we must keep forever in our memories.

The tour will start in Catania: First we will visit the Allied Landings Museum, where you'll see what took place in Sicily during World War II with a great focus on Operation Husky.
The museum includes bunker reconstructions, videos, photos, models, statues, original clothing and documents belonging to the war period.

After that we will leave the town an have a first quick stop at the Commonwealth War Cemetery, where 2. 135 soldiers are buried. Then we will arrive in Syracuse to visit the ruins of the italian coastal batteries that are located in the wonderfull Plemmiro Nature reserve, in a magnificent scenery where you can also see greek querries, and caves. Before going back to catania we will stop in Ortigia to visit the Ipogeo, a querries used as a shelter in 1943.

Leaving from Catania with our vintage car we will drive in scenic roads that crosses millenial lava eruption to reach Etna south side, quote 6. 300 feets to discover the Silvestri craters, mouth that formed after the eruption of 1892 along a radial fracture on wich 5 eruptive cones were set: we will walk around one of this exinct craters to look around the incredible landascape characterized by a sea of black volcanic stone, little cones, wild vegetation and the golf of Catania over the Ionian sea. After the walk in Etna slopes we will drive and reach the nice city of Zafferana, the capital of honey production, where we will stop in a winery close to 1992 eruption for having a tasting of 4 different Etna wines and typical local products. A visit to an organic honey farm will be our last stop before going back to Catania.
