The traces of the Jewish Community of Rome date back to the 2nd century B. C. . The so called Ghetto is a neighborhood where Jewish people had to reside between 1555 and 1870. Shortly after Rome became the Capital of Italy, the old ghetto buildings were rebuilt between 1901 and 1904 and a new main synagogue was built to in the eclectic style of the new century. The area is very quaint and it hosts many shops and kosher restaurants. I will show you across the Roma bridge named Fabricius (there since 62 B. C. ), the oldest bridge left in Rome, and will take you to the Tiberine Island and to the neighborhood called Trastevere. Trastevere lies on the right bank of the river and it maintains its Medieval atmosphere with its narrow, winding streets and cobbled stones and churches from a thousand years ago. Some like storytelling, some fun facts and anecdotes, in this Tour there is something in for everyone, do not miss the opportunity!
