Maria Rosaria P.
Hi! Welcome to my homepage! My name is Maria Rosaria and I was born in Terracina a charming town...
Itinerary not perfect? Message Maria Rosaria P. to build a tour that’s just right for you.
Let's start our journey back in time! Visiting Navona Square you are astonished by the shape and the size of the square, one of the iconic places of the Baroque style in Rome with its palaces, churches, and fountains. But very few know what lies beneath the beautiful square. In the first century here the emperor Domitian had a stadium built for athletic games. A few meters down the modern street level we will find the remains of the first example of a masonry stadium. This is why the square has still the same shape. Where once we had the stands, now we have the palaces! From Navona square we reach the archaeological area of Vicus Caprarius, known as the city of water under Trevi Fountain, a labyrinth of different remains of ancient buildings like a domus of the imperial time, the castellum aquae of the aqueduct of the virgin water still visible nearby and impressive artifacts like fragments of statues, mosaics, amphorae and a lot of coins.
We ill visit: -Piazza Navona and the Domitian Stadium -Trevi Fountain and Vicus Caprarius -Pantheon from the inside - Vicolo del Nazareno - Rinascente store Vicus Caprarius archaeological site is closed on Monday. The itinerary can be customized according to your needs and requests. -The itinerary could be on the reverse according to time slot tickets. -Please remember to bring your ID with you (the passport photo on the phone works). -In the museums, in the archaeological sites and in general in all the Roman churches dress code for both men and women requires shoulders and knees to be covered. Shorts and skirts are fine, but below knees. Do not bring large items (e. g. large bags, backpacks, long umbrellas…) on tour because they are not permitted.
