Maria Rosaria P.
Hi! Welcome to my homepage! My name is Maria Rosaria and I was born in Terracina a charming town...
Itinerary not perfect? Message Maria Rosaria P. to build a tour that's just right for you.
If you're passionate about archaeology, don’t miss one of my favorite places in Rome: the National Roman Museum at Palazzo Massimo. This museum takes you on a journey from the Republic to the Imperial era, exploring ancient Roman habits, traditions, culture, and fashion. Discover the General of Tivoli, with his realistic face and idealized body, and admire Roman portraits reflecting virtues like Auctoritas, Dignitas, and Pietas. See the impressive bronze Boxer, seemingly waiting to be found, and the Discobolo Lancellotti, a symbol of athletic beauty returned to Italy after WWII. Don’t miss the stunning frescoes, especially the painted garden from the Villa of Livia—an ancient paradise of exotic birds and lush vegetation.
Highlights: - The General of Tivoli: Examine the blend of realistic portraiture with idealized body forms, symbolizing heroic beauty. - Roman Portraits: Focus on busts representing key Roman virtues (Auctoritas, Dignitas, Gravitas, Honestas, Pietas), explaining their cultural significance. - The Boxer at Rest: Admire this rare bronze statue, discussing its emotional impact and discovery on the Quirinal Hill. - The Discobolo Lancellotti: Learn about this marble copy of Myron’s original, its symbolic role in Nazi propaganda, and its return to Italy by the Monuments Men. The itinerary can be customized. Please write me if there are people with mobility problems and if you use or need a wheelchair. Please bring a copy of your passport (hard copy or photo on your phone) tickets are nominal and you must show a copy of your documents. Are you a cruiser? Please contact me to customize the tour.
