This tour is dedicated to exploring the entire area of Ancient Rome's monumental centre. Among these monuments is the Trajan's Column, erected to celebrate the conquest of Dacia (Romania), and the the impressive three columns of the temple of Venus Genetrix where we can also see and understand how in the middle ages the region was occupied by houses and cultivated areas. The Roman Forum sits just 40 metres below the Palatine Hill. It's a rectangular plaza surrounded by the ruins of storied buildings. This forum was the heart of the ancient city of Rome and it was the venue for speeches, criminal trials, and Gladiatorial battles. Mount Palatino has always been the monumental centre of ancient Rome. It was here, according to legend, that the she-wolf suckled Remus and his twin Romulus. This also was the place chosen by the first king of Rome in the 8th century BC to found the small village destined to become a metropolis. We are going to see also the Domus Tiberiana reopened after almost 50 years!
·After meeting at Trajan's Column, we'll walk inside the Imperial Forums. ·First, we'll visit the biggest Imperial Forum built by emperor Trajan in the II Century. ·From here, we'll walk under the modern road opened by Mussolini in 1932 and reach the forum of Ceasar. ·Next, we'll visit the Roman Forum, the heart of Ancient Rome. ·We'll proceed to visit the first monumental square and the administrative centre of Rome, the site of triumphal processions and elections, the venue of public speeches. ·From here we'll go to visit the Palatine Hill, the site of Rome's foundation, as the Domus Tiberiana, where we'll see the ruins of the first Roman village and the place chosen by the emperors for their palaces. ·At last, we'll visit the Arch of Constantine and see the Colosseum from outside. -Please bring a copy of your passport (hard copy or photo on your phone) tickets are nominal and you must show a copy of your documents.
