The Splendours of Cefalù - Half Day Tour from Palermo

We will set off from Palermo and after taking the scenic motorway along the coast, we will arrive in the charming Cefalù. Cefalù derives its Greek name"Kephalé", headland, from the shape of the circular promontory where the ancient Greek colony was founded in the 4th Century B. C. This typical fishing town managed to preserve the old architecture especially from the Middle Ages. Upon arrival, you will stroll around the narrow streets, enjoying the old houses that feature nice courtyards in a very Moorish style. We will visit the famous Cathedral built in 1131 by the Norman king Roger II. This beautiful monument is decorated with precious Byzantine mosaics that entirely cover the main apse. You will also visit the typical public wash place, where until a few years ago women used to wash their clothes.
