Palermo art design experience

Sitting at the crossroads of history, Palermo bears the marks of many cultures. Founded by the Phoenicians in the 8th century B. C , since its origin it has been caracterized by high performing handcraft production. "Phaenikos" in greek language means "porpora" color. Indeed, Phoenicians were recognized as the ones who where able in painting textiles. The art of ceramics has always been spread in Sicily, even before Palermo was founded. This tour is dedicated to the top of local handcraft art design. You will be enchanted by masters we will meet to get into their art. Nicolò Giuliano ceramic production is one of the best and most talented in Italy, which is why we will start meeting him in his factory. Afterwards we'll visit the MU design studio, focused on merging historical roots with contemporary production, like precious Gulì Sicilian fabrics for begs, kimonos and stoles. Strolling in the old town we will get into other laboratories (leather, metals, recycled materials) following your interests.
