Gabriella S.
Hello everyone, my name is Gabriella, I am an official tourist guide in the whole region Campania...
Itinerary not perfect? Message Gabriella S. to build a tour that’s just right for you.
This museum is the largest one in Europe that is completely consecrated to archaeology. Right from the beginning, it was built for the purpose of holding the treasures discovered in the cities buried by the fury of the eruption of mount Vesuvius in 79 AD; still today you will be able to visit the large sections dedicated to the discoveries arriving from Pompeii and Herculaneum. You will be astonished by the frescoes and mosaics found on the walls or on the floors of homes, by the statues in marble or in alabaster, by any ordinary and precious objects from the Roman era, found around this amazing region. With so much to see, it is a real treat having a private guide leading the way, showing you all the best artifacts, and sharing their most interesting stories. Take pleasure in having a more personalized experience where you can focus on particular aspects of the museum that interest you the most and enjoy your time just the way you like it.
Some highlights you'll have in the tour are: Farnese Collection Pompeii artifacts Coin collection The secret cabinet Herculanium artifacts Farnese Bull & Hercules Cave Canem moseic Pompeii Alexander moseic Note: the museum is closed on Tuesdays Note: the itinerary can be customized according to your needs and requests In the museums, in the archaeological sites and in general in all the churches dress code for both men and women requires shoulders and knees to be covered. Shorts and skirts are fine, but below knees. Do not bring large items (e. g. large bags, backpacks, long umbrellas…) on tour because they are not permitted.
