The rich food culture of Naples is unique thanks to its extremely fertile volcanic soil, and due to being a port city that for thousands of years has welcomed many different cultures, people and traditions that blend into the local food. Let's discover all of this through a delicious itinerary that will allow you to taste the "buonissima pizza" (streetfood style) and to enjoy sit-down meals too, plus volcanic wine tasting with mouthwatering cheeses and pastries, as well as seasonal local fruits and veggies, plus much more! I created this tour to provide a full culinary experience, that can be adapted to your personal tastes and/or food requirements. Under my oversight, no one will miss out on tasting delicious local dishes among the wide variety offered in the Neapolitan food culture. As we stop to taste, sip and meet local vendors, I'll also make sure you learn about the local traditions that have been passed on through centuries and the unique Neapolitan way of enjoying life through food.
-After meeting, we'd head to the Sanità district to enjoy a delicious (award-winning!) "sfogliatella", an emblematic Neapolitan pastry. ·Next, walking through the bustling food market, we'd stop to taste baking savoury goods in one of the area's historic best family-run spots. ·Further exploring Sanità, I'd introduce you to culinary masters that instead of pursuing international fame, they've followed their heart and stayed in their childhood home where they continue to prepare "frittatina" and "fried pizza" as well as sweet fluffy sweets, all which you'd get to taste! ·We'd proceed to sit down to enjoy some of the tastings with a nice glass of local vulcanic wine. ·We'd then continue into the Old City, visiting a local charcuterie to taste the finest local cheeses, marinated veggies and cold cuts such as smoked provola, salame di Napoli and sun dried local tomatoes. ·We'd finish off in a little piazza to enjoy a coffee and local liquer. Itinerary could be adapted for celiacs and vegans/vegetarians*.
