You will understand why Montefalco is known as the Balcony of Umbria when you arrive at the top of this lovely village and realize that you have a 360 - degree sweeping view of the unspoilt landscape of the Umbrian Valley around you. Montefalco is among the most peaceful places on earth: in this enchanting stone village, perched on gentle green hills, you will see stunning nature, green grapevines, dense olive groves, stone farmhouses with terra-cotta roofs and fine Renaissance artworks by Benozzo Gozzoli and Perugino which will make the climb worthwhile! Be prepared to discover a unique DOCG wine: Sagrantino. The luscious, vibrant, floral and tannic indigenous wine can be a delicious distraction while sensing the bluish hue of the air, the bell towers that dot the landscape with the golden hills and the endless expansion of green!
