You will have a chance to view the iconic landscape of Tuscany, drink our famous wines and visit very mystic abbeys. The Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, founded in 1300 and situated in the extraordinary landscape of the Sienese clay hills, houses frescoes by Sodoma and Luca Signorelli depicting the life of Saint Benedict. It is also home to some exquisite wood inlays by Fra’ Giovanni of Verona. Although a religious place it is fun to visit and is suitable for all ages. We will continue onto Montalcino and stop at a winery producing Brunello di Montalcino for a delicious lunch paired with their wines. Subject to availability or on your interest, we may opt for a wine tasting in a winery and lunch in Montalcino where we can also take a stroll and eat a gelato! Our visit will continue to the Abbey of Sant’Antimo,. Legend has it that the abbey was founded by Charlemagne aka Charles the Great. A magical and evocative place nestled among the vineyards of Brunello of Montalcino.
- Meet at the draw bridge at the Monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore - Visit the cloister and the church of the Monastery as well as their shop with the herbal products made by the monks - Drive to Montalcino with your car or private driver (30 minutes) - Tasting and lunch at a winery OR lunch in town + tasting in a winery - Visit the Abbey of Saint Antimo set in the middle of a magic landscape
