Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Pienza and Brunello di Montalcino Wine

Tuscany is famous for its hill towns, art, scenery but also for its incredible food and wine. We will visit an olive grove and an oil mill and learn the secrets of Extra Virgin Olive Oil production, tasting different types (good and bad!). You will learn the difference with other vegetable oils (palm, coconut, sunflower, peanut oils). With a short drive (15 minutes) we will be in Pienza, the town built by Pope Pius II to be a utopian renaissance town and which is now famous for cheese, the outstanding Pecorino di Pienza which we will taste in town. After a delicious lunch with pici pasta (long thick spaghetti) served with aglione (garlic and tomato sauce) or cheese and pepper as well as other local specialties, we will drive through the most amazing Tuscany landscape to reach the Brunello di Montalcino area, the most famous wine of Italy! Here we will visit a winery and its cellars and we will enjoy 3 wines lerning everything about the Italian history of wine making and the Sangiovese grape.
