Duomo is the cathedral and the breathtaking symbol of the city since 1386: visiting it with a guide gives you the opportunity to have a complete access to the rooftop, inside of the cathedral and archeological area underground. After the visit of the Duomo we walk through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the first shopping mall in the world and an innovative "salotto elegante", to reach Scala Opera House. The real temple of music has been hosting the greatest international artists since 1778!

Next optional stops are Sforza Castle (a fortress in the past, elegant residence of dukes and today a gem for culture) and Brera, a picturesque district with its alleys full of charm and history.

This tour will give you the unique opportunity of discovering the highlights of Como, together with a breathtaking view over Lake Como.

Even though I've walked the streets of Como since I was a teenager, I still enjoy sharing their charm and the many stories that the city has to tell, like the tradition of silk weaving, why is Como the cradle of the electrical battery, the "mystery" of the 2 statues on the Cathedral front-side.

But in this tour there's something I like even more: taking the Funicular! An unusual mean of transport we will use to reach Brunate. It's 7 minutes of excitement and wonder, especially if the day is clear. As the Funicolar goes up, you start to see the city becoming smaller, as a scale model. Then you find yourself in a completely different place, with fresh and pure air, mountain feeling and fascinating luxury villas.

Quite often, after walking in Brunate, people decide to spend more time there for a well deserved aperitivo or sunset!

We'll have a walking tour through the old town, discovering the story of the Duomo and its "Madonnina" , we'll stroll through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele (the shopping arcade of Milan) and we'll be introduced to the fashion system of Milan; we'll reach the Scala square and the famous Scala Opera house.
Then - through the real "Milanese streets"- we'll head to the Sforza Castle dating back to the Renaissance time, which courtyards are still overwhelming. After a glance at the Arch of Peace (dating back to the time of Napoleon), we may end up at the Simplon Park or in the Brera area.
The tour is absolutely flexible, but   to visit the Duomo inside a reservation (and pre-payment ) will be needed , therefore please inform me in advance.

I've always been fascinated by its thousands statues and gargoyles and even after years of guiding I still enjoy discovering new amazing details to show my guests going up to the roof top.

After a pleasant stroll through the elegant Galleria and its historical cafés where you can taste the typical 'barbajada' in the winter or a real gelato in the summer, we'll be in front of the world-renowned Temple of Lyrics, the Teatro alla Scala.

Then, I won't be less excited to show you the Medieval Piazza dei Mercanti and the lively pedestrian via Dante, bordered by the refined historical palazzi and countless little shops, we will finally end at the impressive Castello Sforzesco, residence of the Sforza Dukes in the Renaissance,  made even more special by the presence of Leonardo da Vinci.

After meeting in Milan, Central Railway Station, we will go to Varenna by train; we will discover the pictoresque Varenna and by ferry we wil reach Villa Carlotta to visit the baroque/neoclassic villa and the stunning gardens: we will wnjoy a neoclassic and romantic collection of statues and paintings.
Then we will go to Bellagio, laying in the middle of the three branches of Lake Como, for lunch and to discover the stairs and the narrow strees pointed by shops.

The Duomo is the very soul of Milan and the thousands of statues decorating it are the heads of the whole human kind. No matter who you are, which is your religion or where you are from, you feel the warm hug of inclusion and walking on the fine inlaid work pavement feels like strolling on a flower meadow. A sense of peace and spirituality will pervade every inch of our body and as an artist I admire this excellent building labour and the awareness of doing it for the community sake.

Blinded by the light, when we exit the Duomo we'll walk the Gallery, the lofty city arcade where Prada's first shop was opened. Designed by a young and brave architect for sheltering citizens from the rain, it houses the most luxurious and stylish shops.
