Following Stanley Tucci's steps in Valtellina - full-day tour

Did you know that, just at the end of lake Como, the Valtellina valley starts? Have you seen Stanley Tucci "Searching for Italy" Episode 4, when the actor goes to the Alps and visits Gerola Alta, where the rare Bitto cheese is made? Have you ever tried the famous dish "pizzoccheri" (buckwheat flour pasta) that he makes at the end of the episode? In this tour we will follow Tucci's steps and experience a unique and genuine side of Valtellina. On our way from Lake Como we will first stop in an historical cellar in the centre of Sondrio, where a unique kind of wine is produced. We will then have lunch in a local restaurant and, of course, try the famous pizzoccheri. In the afternoon, in Gerola Alta, we will meet the cheese maker in Centro del Bitto Storico: he will explain the history of Bitto cheese, its production and its aging process, showing us the famous "casera". We will also have the possibility to try different kinds of Bitto cheese at the end of the visit.
