- Piazza della Repubblica, where the Medici family created the ghetto in 1570 - The Baptistery in front of the Duomo - Synagogue - Jewish museum
Florence does not have a ghetto anymore but let's meet for an espresso in Piazza della Repubblica. While you enjoy it, I will explain where the first synagogue of Florence was and why. I will also give you a full insight of the life of the Jewish community and the tight relationship which developed In Florence between the Jews and the Christian scholars during the Renaissance . Once our small conversation and your expresso is over, we will quickly reach the Baptistery and have a look at the Paradise gate with stories from the Old Testament and then we'll head to the Synagogue for the visit of the Temple and the Jewish museum. After the visit you can decide to stop for lunch in the two kosher restaurants close by or if you prefer to explore the Sant'Ambrogio market on your own and pick up one of the many trattorias in the neighborhood.
Contact your local guide to know more!!
We move on foot, but if you wish we can catch a cab from the Baptistery to the Synagogue
