Michelangelo was more than a sculptor and a painter. He was a poet and a philosopher; an overall brilliant artist with a complex personality who interacted with popes and high-ranking patrons as an equal, fully aware of his talent. Did you know that his artistic history begins in Florence? Actually only a few steps from where today stands the splendid statue of David, sculpted by him at just 26 years old. Michelangelo's name would become inextricably linked to the Medici family, who, thanks Lorenzo the Magnificent, recognized and nurtured the young Michelangelo's talent. I will guide you through the streets where he grew up and introduce you to him through some of his most significant works: The Prisoners and the David. We will also visit the Medici Chapels where the Grand Dukes of Tuscany and their families are buried. Please remember to bring your passport, since tickets are nominal and you must show your ID (although a passport photo on your phone works).
·This tour will begin once we've gathered in front of the Accademia Gallery, which we'll proceed to visit. It should be noted that for security reasons, we will be checked with Metal Detectors before entering. ·After exploring the gallery, we'll head to Palazzo Medici Riccardi to admire its facade. ·Next, we'll reach the Church of San Lorenzo. If this tour is booked on a Tuesday, we will step inside to explore the church. -At last, we'll wrap up the tour at the Medici Chapels, which we'll enter on any day other than a Tuesday since they're closed. - The Accademia is closed on Mondays This tour can be customized according to your preference. -It should be noted that if booking this tour in high season, there could potentially still be some queuing, even with skip-the-line tickets. Note: -Please remember to bring your passport, the ticket is NOMINAL and you must show your ID (passport photo on your phone works).

Since it's Walking Tour, I suggest wearing comfy shoes and bringing a bottle of water with you. If booking during the summer, be sure not to forget a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. If booking during the winter, don't forget bringing a raincoat or small umbrella in case it rains. -Please write me if there are people with mobility problems and if you use or need a wheelchair, the itinerary will be different. -For security reasons, all visitors are to be screened with Metal Detectors
