Siena and San Gimignano from Florence

On this tour we will visit Siena first, just an hour's drive away. We will walk through the narrow streets of its medieval districs. Those neighborhoods that every year "run the Palio", the famous horse race that takes place July 2 and August 16 in the town hall square. We will see from the outside the Cathedral and the oldest hospital in the world, S. Maria della scala. Enjoy lunch in a family style trattoria in Siena or al fresco in a small hamlet in the countryside near by. Visit "the medieval Manhattan" of San Gimignano surrounded by olive groves and vernaccia vinyard. On requests side activities can be : Light lunch with wine tasting /visit an olive oil press (in autumn) / hikes or cooking classes. Ps: * Italian Cooking class with chef, can be organized including San Gimignano only.
