Starting in the central Republic Square we walk through the medieval city learning about its history, architecture and art. What makes this tour unique is that we wind our way off the beaten path, to see aspects of the city that are often overlooked or hidden in place sight. Approaching the north side of the Duomo, aka Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, we proceed to the Accademia where, in a purposely made hall, Michelangelo's original statue of David is housed together with other stunning works by the same artist.
I highly recommend that you contact me BEFORE signing up to this tour, because tickets to the Accademia are not guaranteed, and so that I can customise the tour to accommodate any specific needs you may have. The standard itinerary is as follows: - Piazza della Repubblica - Orsanmichele Church - Piazza della Signoria and the Palazzo Vecchio - Ponte Vecchio - Piazza Santa Trinita - The Duomo, or Cathedral, the Baptistery and Giotto Belltower - The Accademia (Museum with Michelangelo's David)
