Most Tuscan and Umbrian towns are in landlocked agricultural areas. By taking this tour you will visit a gorgeous town with a view on the water and take a lake boat cruise to see beautiful Isola Maggiore.
We meet in Castiglion del Lago where we will visit the beautiful Palazzo Ducale. You will hear the life story of Ascanio della Corgna , a mercenary who fought in various battles in Italy and abroad and how he gave rise to his own dinasty. Then, we will visit Ricca del Leone a medieval fortress with a gorgeous view on the lake Subsequently we will drive to Tuoro - ask if you need transportation- to board a private boat that will take you for a short cruise on the lake, and as you drink Prosecco you will learn about Isola Maggiore and other sites. Then you have a choice, either be dropped off back in Tuoro, or disembark on the island where you can have aperitivo, lunch or dinner. . . . . We may go for a swim in warm Summer days!
