Cagliari Half Day Tour: Market San Benedetto and Old City (Tour auch auf Deutsch)

During this half day walking tour you will see all the most popular sites and experience one of the must see places: the fish market San Benedetto. If you really like to feel the local everyday life, the San Benedetto Market is one of the must see places on the Island. It was opened in 1957 and it soon became "the market" where every "mamma cagliaritana" shops for fresh, local food. Inside this 2 level building of about 4, 000 square meters you'll find everything from vegetables, meats, poultry to seafood. The ground floor fish market is the biggest attraction; it offers a huge variety of seafood: giltheads, soles, mullets, crabs, oysters, octopus, tuna, swordfish, clams and many more. Tasting sea urchins or mussels surely is an experience not to be missed! Afterwards, we will walk you through the medieval district "Castello", which is still surrounded by the 14th century walls. We will visit the cathedral S. Maria and its crypt, and the lively Marina district.
