Day trip to Blarney Castle & Woollen Mills and Kinsale from Killarney and Kenmare

There is so much to see and experience at Blarney Castle, it really is worth the visit. The big attraction is to kiss the Blarney Stone which is set at the top of the Castle wall below the battlements and is accessed by a narrow winding stairway from the bottom to the top where you can view the beautiful Irish countryside. There are many gardens to stroll through which are colorful with sculptures such as the ancient Stone Circle. Many visitors like some retail therapy and you won't be disappointed at Blarney Woollen Mills with great quality merchandise for sale, you might even pick up some Xmas gifts. Kinsale is on the sea with it's own yacht club and marina. Kinsale is a riot of colour in Summer and locals pride themselves on calling it the gourmet capital of Ireland. You have to have lunch in one of the many pubs with extensive menus and which serve fish caught locally, with a pint of the local Murphy's stout to go with it. I love to stroll this historic old town and soak up the history and culture.
