This is an insightful and entertaining exploration of Dublin and Ireland's history and culture as I bring you on a journey around most of what Dublin has to offer. If you are looking for an in-depth tour that allows more time to explore topics such as the Great Famine, Celtic mythology, religion, or whatever your wish to learn more about, then this is the tour for you. We also have more time to explore places that are more off the beaten track. We will travel through time, from early Celtic times, right through to the arrival of Christianity, the Vikings, the Anglo-Normans, right up to Ireland's independence and the present day. I think of my tours as an adventure, both for me and you. You might get a song, a mythological story, a poem. Who knows. . . It all depends on where we end up and how the tour flows. Let's go on a fun and engaging journey together!
Here are some of the places we will explore: - Dublin Castle - the seat of British administration in Ireland for over 700 years. - Christchurch Area - We will explore around Christchurch Cathedral (from outside), and walk passed the Viking are of Dublin known as Wood Quay. - Temple Bar and Ha'penny Bridge - We will visit Dublin's tourist quarter, famous for its pubs and cobblestoned streets. - Trinity College - the number one university in Ireland and also its most beautiful. Founded in 1592. - Grafton Street Area - we will walk down Dublin's most famous pedestrianised street and explore the area. - National Archaeology Museum - we will visit the famous Bog Bodies Exhibition. We may also explore Merrion Square, the National Gallery, O'Connell St, St Stephen's Green and many other hidden gems.
