Dublin has an amazing multilayered history but there is also a hidden story. The buildings, symbols, music and folklore are part of a living city with a harmony which affects the inhabitants and visitors alike. I feel that Dublin or any city can seem confusing and disjointed unless it is explained in a comprehensive way. What seems like a random series of ancient and modern buildings is actually a tapestry of functionality. On this tour we explore the mythology of the Early Irish and the Vikings, the founders of the city, Early Irish Christianity and the churches and saints of Dublin. We visit the medieval city along with many places of symbolc significance with stories and lessons encoded into their fabric and structure. Modern and ancient folklore will be discussed and interpreted. I have many years experience of working with spiritual authors, and bring their work up for discussion too.
Garden of Remembrance General Post Office River Liffey National library WB Yeats exhibition. (Subject to opening hours) Sweny's Pharmacy Oscar Wilde Statue Churches, subject to opening hours and services Saint Stephens Green Plus many more buildings and sculptures interpreted along the way. * Itinerary can be customized upon request.
