An interesting exploration of the highlights of the National Gallery, Archaeology Museum and a short walk through two of Dublin's most beautiful parks - Stephens Green and Merrion Square. This is a lovely, relaxing tour that never stays too long in one place. Depending on your interests and time we may also venture through Trinity College and the Grafton Street area. This is a perfect tour for a rainy day, or for those who want to take their time to delve deeper into exploring less obvious aspects of Irish culture and history. You will find that these ancient artifacts and wonderful Irish paintings and sculptures will open your imagination in a way that is quite different to the more conventional walking tour. Not to mention the beautiful nature of the parks. As an actor as well as a tour guide, I believe the mysterious aspects of our history and culture are our true treasures. This tour incorporating art, artifacts and scupltures enables us to delve deeper in that direction.
- We will only visit the highlights of the National Gallery (only paintings that are relevant to Irish culture and history), and we will visit the Bog Bodies exhibition in the Archaeology Museum, as well as explore the Treasury, which includes the Tara Brooch and Ardagh Chalice. - We will also explore St. Stephen's Green Park, which in itself is a journey through the history of Dublin. We will visit WB Yeat's (one of Ireland's greatest poets) memorial, discuss the 1916 Rising, which took place there, as well as discuss the founding of the park itself. - We will also visit Merrion Square, and take a visit to Oscar Wilde's statue. Merrion Square is a beautiful example of a Georgian Square with it's many colourful Georgian doors, which Dublin is famous for. -If we have time we may also walk through Trinity College campus and around the Grafton Street area.
