From 1913 to 1923 Ireland witnessed rebellion and war on a scale never previously seen. At the centre of this was Dublin City. These very streets witnessed the birthplace of the movement for Irish freedom, the Irish Rebellion of 1916, the Irish War of Independence 1919 to 1921 and eventually the bitter Irish Civil War 1922 to 1923. The city holds a treasure trove of historical landmarks and sites that tell the story of Dublin's revolutionary past.
