Bohemian Dublin - Walking Tour

Dublin has always been renowned for its artists, poets and writers but it was in the post-war period of the 1950's that some of our very best launched themselves onto the world stage. From Brendan Behan to Harry Kernoff and from Edna O'Brien to Patrick Kavanagh, these incredible artists lived and worked in what was known as 'Bohemian Dublin'. Make no mistake they were in no way shape or form well off during this time and neither was the city in which they mastered their craft. Instead they faced a world perhaps not yet ready for them and a city that was undergoing change at a rapid level. Today their influence can be seen everywhere across the city. Join me as we look at the houses, the pubs, the studios and the stories of this remarkable generation. They were, much like Dublin, meant to be loved and never truly understood.
