This private full day walking tour comprehensively covers some of the favorite attractions of the historic city of Dublin. In addition, you will visit some lesser known hidden gems, all curated by a local guide, born, bred and living in Dublin, familiar with its nooks and crannies. You will have a selection of key attractions from which to choose, as tickles your fancy. Dublin is a very walkable city, so the pace will be leisurely and set by you, with ample opportunity to savour the wonderful variety of food and drink it has to offer, along the way. In case of weary feet, or a passing shower, the pass will allow free use of bus or light rail to help getting around. The attractions are carefully selected with local expertise to maximise the amount of amazing sites and attractions that can be visited in a single day. You will leave with a true appreciation of what Dublin has to offer, and armed with a host of tips and tricks for further exploration another day!
Starting at a city centre location, walk along the historic city quays, then on to the Grand Canal "Silicon" Docks, so dubbed for the omni-presence of hi-tech multi-national companies, juxtaposed with the thriving transport hub of yesteryear. Traipse through Georgian streets and stop off in the iconic "O'Donoghues" pub, for a nibble, a tipple, or perhaps a pint of the black stuff. Passing Government Buildings, several national museums and the birthplaces of famous historical characters, arrive at Trinity College, Ireland's oldest university. After a visit to the world's first purpose built parliament house, and the inimitable Molly Malone, choose between a free visit to Dublin Castle or Christchurch Cathedral. After a hearty lunch in Ireland's oldest pub, choose between visits to the Jameson Distillery and the Epic Museum, or the Guinness Storehouse and St. Michen's Church, reputedly the inspiration behind Bram Stokers Dracula. Finish with a well earned meal in a favourite haunt of your native host
