SAMBOJA ECO LODGE A new venture for The Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation (BOSF) is the construction of our Samboja Lodge facility. Here, for the first time, visitors will be able to work closely with us on the many projects currently active in Samboja Lestari in aid of saving our rainforests and the orangutan. Black River is best visited in the early morning and late afternoon. Following a 20 minute drive from Samboja Lestari, you take a boat ride along the Sungai Hitam tidal river to see highly endangered Proboscis monkeys and other wildlife. BUKIT BANGKIRAI, The Hanging bridge is 40 meters high from the ground level 60 meters in length is located in Bukit Bangkirai. Visitors can take short forest walks and climbing into the forest canopy using connecting bridges to a height of 40 meters. The platform provides a perfect vantage point for observing macaques, leaf monkeys, maroon langurs, gibbons, and hornbills.
Day 01: BALIKPAPAN, SAMBOJA LESTARI RESERVE ( LD) Balikpapan airport/Hotel, meeting service and transfer to Samboja Lodges, While Entering, we pass the Rainforest over the muddy road with our 4 wheel drive car. After Check-in at The Samboja Lodge, we take a look from the Tower to have an overview of the National Park Samboja. Afterward trekking the forest to see the Orangutans and Sun-bears in their rehabilitation process back in the wild. Lunch and Dinner at Samboja Lodge. Day 02: SAMBOJA LESTARI, BLACK RIVER, BUKIT BANGKIRAI, BALIKPAPAN HOTEL (BLD) After Breakfast by car to Black River to see highly endangered Proboscis monkeys and other wildlife then Bukit Bangkirai where we can find several species of hardwood trees and a Tree Top Hanging Bridge with a beautiful view over Kalimantan's Hills filled with emerald Jungle. Dinner and Overnight at Balikpapan hotel. Day 03: HOTEL, KEBUN SAYUR-AIRPORT (B) After Breakfast free time to the Art shop Kebun Sayur until departure time to the Airport.
