Derawan and Paradise Island are located in North Kalimantan and Berau Regency East Kalimantan. There are at least four famous islands in this Archipelago, which is Pulau Maratua, Derawan, Sangalaki, and Kakaban. Derawan chain contains Indonesia's largest nesting site for endangered green sea turtles, which emerge from the sea every night to lay their eggs on the white sand beaches of Sangalaki and Derawan Islands. Another island in the chain, Semama, is an important bird sanctuary, and Kakaban Island contains the world's largest and most diverse jellyfish lake, with four unique species of stingless jellyfish. Kakaban is being considered for nomination as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The types of coral reefs consist of reef edge, barrier reefs, and atolls.
Day 01: BERAU, DERAWAN ISLAND (BLD) Upon arrival at Berau, transfer to the harbor to boarding a boat and cross the Sulawesi Sea to Derawan Island. Check-in at Resort. Lunch, afternoon possibility for snorkeling at Derawan village sightseeing. At night we could explore Turtle bay. Day 02:DERAWAN-SANGALAKI-KAKABAN-MARATUA (BLD) After breakfast transfer by boat to Sangalaki and Kakaban Island for a full day, lunch box, continue to Maratua Island for dinner and overnight at Resort. Day 03:MARATUA - DERAWANBLD) Breakfast at Maratua resort, visiting the local villages, and possibilities for snorkeling the blue lagoon sea, or relax under the palm trees at the bounty paradise white beach. After lunch return to Derawan. Overnight and dinner at Derawan Resort Day 04: DERAWAN, BERAU, BALIKPAPAN (B) After breakfast starts our trip across the sea by boat to Berau for the return flight to Balikpapan, from where you can connect for your Flight.
