I will tell you about the history of tourism dating back to 1927, about the arrival of the famous German artist Walter Spies, and the visit of Queen Elizabeth ii in 1974, and also the places seen in the movie, Eat Pray Love, shot in 2010.
In this area, the painting galleries, museums, art shops, and work-shops are endless, I will guide you to visit one of the cooperative artists' workshops to learn about the traditional Balinese style and Ubud style which is very different from modern art.
If you have time to stay you can also take a Balinese painting class and buy a nice souvenir directly from the artist.
