We start by visiting the Latin quarter's section or Fontainhas area where you see old Portuguese houses and beautiful colored houses then drive to do a city tour of Panjim from there we leave for old Goa the old capital of Goa during the Portuguese times to see the two world heritage churches: Basilica of Bom Jesus and se - cathedral( largest cathedral build outside Portugal). then we drive to the spice plantation optional 800 per person with a guided tour and a simple Goan lunch served in earthen pots and leave plates.

I shall personally do the tour plantation where I shall tell you about different spices grown and their properties and uses, also buy spices as it is an organic plantation. After lunch, we drive to the Hindu temple 17th century of Lord Shiva's wife Parvati which dates back to the 15th century.

A Half Day Heritage Walk Of Old Goa The Former Capital

This is one of the most exciting tours for me as a tour guide as a child growing up I was always fascinated by the intriguing stories told by my grandparents about what the former capital was in the bygone days. As a Guide today these stories of the past and the historical facts put together started me on my journey to give tours of this once former capital so well known across the world as the Rome of the East at one point in time for the trade and commerce that took place out here, under the former ruler the Adil Shah and later in 1510 under the famous Portuguese Conqueror Alfonso de Albuquerque. Today this once former capital has a rich influence of the catholic churches built by the different denominations sent by the vatican.

I love giving this tour because there is so much of rich history about each single church we visit , the architecture and the local artisan influences of both Islamic and Hindu incorporated in the construction of theses amazing World Heritage Monuments.
