We start the day driving to Goðafoss Waterfall that is located half way to lake Mývatn only half an hour away from Husavik. After a nice short walk admiring one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland you can grab some refreshments in the local coffee house before we continue our drive to the lake. As we arrive to Lake Mývatn we enjoy a short walk on and amongst the unique pseudo craters that can be found all around the lake. Next we drive around the lake in its unbelievably diverse landscape with photo stops and short walks. One of Mývatn's most popular sights is Dimmuborgir Lavafield where we walk amongst fascinating Troll-like lava formations. After our walk amongst the trolls we visit Grjótagjá Cave, a former local bathing place situated between the tectonic plates. Our last stop before going for lunch and a soak is at Námaskarð high temperature geothermal field with its boiling mud pools and beautiful sulphur colours.
