Jewish Quarter of Budapest

This walking tour is a combination of introducing the rich past of the Hungarian - Jewish communities and also the present hipster side of this colorful district of Budapest. We will explore the abundant sights of the Jewish heritage in the area which used to be the Ghetto during World War II. Starting with the largest European synagoge, the whole complex of the Grand Synagogue and we will check out two other houses of prayer from the outside in the Synagogue Triangle of Budapest. During the 3 hour long tour I will share the history, tradition and everyday life but you will get to know the bohemian side of this "party district": street art, vintage shops or the cool ruin bars. We can even pop into an authentic ruinpub, too. Our tour ends in a pastry shop where you can taste a traditional Jewish cake (flodni). Please note, that on Friday afternoons, Saturdays (all day) and on the Jewish high holidays the synagogues are closed.
