The country wanted to celebrate an important event in 1896, so the Hungarian government and the Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary Franz Joseph gave permission to build a place to commemorate the arrival of the Hungarians. This place is known as Heroes' Square and still stands on the edge of the downtown of the Pest side of Budapest. If you think this story seems interesting and you are curious to hear more about the turbulent Hungarian history, this is your tour. It is also perfect if you would like to see the sights in a short period of time and without too much walking: this is a half-day flexible private tour in a comfortable air-conditioned minivan. Come along and you will not be disappointed!
Start from your hotel or from another meeting point. - Drive to Gellért Hill, a little walk at the spa or at the lookout place - Drive to Buda Castle Hill, - walk to the Matthias Church and Fishermen's Bastion's panoramic parts, photo stops - Drive through Andrássy Avenue - Arrive at Heroes Square, small walk around the square and City Park This is just a suggested itinerary, let me know what you would like to see and do and I will customize the tour accordingly!
