Half-day for sightseeing, cute animals and shopping

Embark on a small boat for a cruise through the beautiful mangrove tunnel that is covered by a canopy of red mangroves. You will experience a local side of the island, the place I grew up and continue to call home. We will cruise along the shoreline making our way to the mangrove tunnel taking in the scenery of the ocean and small town with homes on stilts and some over the water. Locals still commute frequently on the water using small boats and water taxis. The mangrove tunnel leads to a beautiful swimming lagoon with clear water and white sand bottom. A quiet and relaxing place on most days away from the crowds. Take advantage and snorkel around the mangrove roots and also the inshore rocks at Punta Caribe. Once you have enjoyed your time at the mangrove lagoon you will be treated to a homemade island lunch or Honduran lunch.

Nearby the Mangrove Tunnel is a Czech Village community on the Island of Roatan. A local is seen in a small boat, a very common way to commute from one community to the other.

The sloths have been saved from several building sites on the mainland of Honduras. The tour takes about 45 minutes depending on the crowd that given day. I have been bringing tours here for 10 plus years. The Johnson family have been family friends for years. I have been living in Roatán for 13 years now but my first vacation on the island was in 1973 for a family vacation.

We then will head to West End for lunch at Sundowner's Beach Bar and Grill. But before getting into West End a stop at the Mayak Chocolate Factory is always nice. Once at Sundowners everyone can do what pleases themselves such as swim sunbath adult beverages or do a little shopping.

This covers the entrance fee into the park.

Join me on an unforgettable adventure snorkeling two of Roatán best snorkel sites. Blue Channel: known for its great walls that are full of lots of colorful coral and home to a lot of fish gathering like mahogany snapper, mutton snapper, goatfish and especially the great gathering of the biggest bait ball of googly eyes, where you will see groupers and barracuda feeding.

Did you know that El Aguario is known for its shallow 10 feet of water with great visibility? It is home not only to a lot of blue tangs and bermuda chubs, but also to green turtles, stingrays, squids, lobsters, and more. If we are lucky we will get the chance to see many of them.

This place holds a special memory for me this is where I did my first dive and fell in love with diving. So come along and let me share a little bit of this paradise with you.

Explore this hidden gem away from all the crowds on the western end of the Island and snorkel one my favorite snorkel spots. The Harbour of Port Royal is located on the Eaat End, where I call home. The location is about a 45 minute drive followed by a scenic boat ride through the east end communities where you will see how the locals live and commute in small boats from one community to the other. Once you arrive to Port Royal your snorkeling adventure begins by a shallow inshore snorkel where you will see lots of tropical fishes, coral formations and sea fans. You will also enjoy a swim break and shallow reef snorkel at a sand bar before moving on to an open water reef snorkel followed by a shallow wreck snorkel where you will see juvenile such as grunts, schoolmasters snappers, sergeant majors. A cooler with cold water, can juices and sodas is included along with some light snacks.
