The town of st George was and still is the center of economic activity in Grenada. The Town of St. George is derived from the 18th-century Fort George, which is the first fort built on the island. Fort George based on a small hill offers panoramic views of the town and the horseshoe shaped carnage harbor. A few minutes walk away is the national museum and historical churches, the scott kirk , the Anglican and Catholic churches, House of Chocolate and the market square. The house of Chocolate is a fairly new addition to the town, it offers a unique charm and is a paradise for chocolate lovers, with information on the cultivation and the process of chocolate making. They also carry all the chocolate bars from the five chocolate companies. The National Museum is a time capsule, with information, pottery, weapons and books on pertinent to Grenada and Caribbean.
