The tour is tailor-made for those that want a detailed visit. I have been guiding almost exclusively at ancient Olympia for the last 7 years and I am very passionate about this site! Our visit starts at the museum of the History of the Olympic Games. There, we will discuss about the origins of the Games, the preparation of the athletes, the evolution of the events, the privileges of the victors. Then we will explore the archaeological site. We will see the ruins of one of the most important temples of antiquity, where one of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world stood for centuries. We will stand where the Olympic flame lights and we will visit the stadium where the finest athletes of antiquity would compete. Our visit will continue to the archaeological museum to admire the amazing finds of the excavations. Amongst them the astounding pediments of the temple of Zeus and the mesmerising statue of Hermes of Praxiteles are indicative of the wealth, the luxury and the significance of Olympia
