Battle of Crete Highlights - Half Day Shore Excursion

I will pick you up from Souda port (or Chania) and we'll head to the German Military Cemetery on Hill 107 in Maleme, where one of the most important battles of the Battle of Crete took place in 20-21 May 1941. Then we'll visit a German underground shelter in Platanias, and a private collection of military equipment and memorabilia in Galatas, where the owner will share with us stories about how a lot of that was used and how he found it. Then we'll continue on to the Allied Cemetery in Souda, the final resting place for thousands of men from British Dominions (Australia, Canada, NZ, South Africa) and other Commonwealth countries. If we have time left, we will also visit 42nd Street, a crossroads near Souda where the Maoris pushed back the Germans on May 27th 1941.
