Did the ancient Athenians used to bargain or cheat on the measure? Did they indeed love philosophy and politics or the gossip was what they were really after when they were gathering? And what about love? Could they have their happy endings or matchmaking was the real deal? Embark on an extraordinary journey through the cobbled roads of history as we explore the treasures of the Ancient Agora of Athens. Witness the timeless splendor of Thiseion, the Temple of Hephaestus. Step into the Museum of Agora and let its artifacts weave a narrative through time, revealing the evolution of this historic site. Stroll amidst the Odeon of Agrippas, stand in reverence at the Tholos, and pay homage at the Monument of the 12 Heroes, each echoing with tales of valor and vibrant spirit. Trace the birth of democracy in its cradle. Explore the democratic administrative center, grasp the genesis of the market, and witness the infancy of the first court system—a journey through the foundations of governance.
- We meet at the entrance of the Ancient Agora and share an introduction of what we are going to see and talk about. - We walk to the Odeon of Agrippa, explain the history of the building and see its connection with mermaids and mermen! - We continue by ascending to the temple of Hephaestus that is considered to be the most well preserved Ancient Greek temple all around Greece! - We walk down to the Tholos remainings, what once used to be one of the key governance buildings. - The monument of the 12 Heroes is what follows, tribute to the 12 ancient Athenians that changed the course of the city's route. - The Museum of the Agora is our final stop. Small but full of impressive artifacts, that give us a good taste of how real life used to look like back then, following ancient Athenians from their birth to their final days. - At the exit of the archaeological site we wave goodbye, full by then with exiting stories of Gods, heroes and mortal men!
