On this tour we will visit the ancient city of Corinth, the castle of corinth named acrocorinth and the byzantine Monastery of Daphni. Corinth which was considered the richest city of ancient Greece, many interesting things happened here during the centuries, many conquerors passed and left their marks, Knights Templar, Venetians, Romans, Ottomans, Byzantines, even Saint Paul himself passed through here.
Daphni Monastery is one of the greatest Byzantine masterpieces and a stunning example of architecture and religious iconography. The 11th-century monastery is designated UNESCO World Heritage. Corinth Canal which was finally constructed at 1893 and connecting Aegean sea with adriatic sea. Ancient Corinth was one of the largest and most important cities of Greece, with a population of 90, 000 in 400 BC. The Romans demolished Corinth in 146 BC, built a new city in its place in 44 BC, and later made it the provincial capital of Greece. Corinth was a city-state on the Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow stretch of land that joins the Peloponnese to the mainland of Greece. For Christians, Corinth is well known from the two letters of Saint Paul. Acrocorinth Built on a steep rock, 575 meters high rises the “All-seeing and Keeper of Keys of Peloponnese”, the impressive castle with the fortified acropolis of the ancient and medieval city.
