Highlights of Mecklenburg: Fairytale Castle of Schwerin & Medieval Hanseatic Architecure of Rostock

Departure from the cruise terminal at Warnemuende, one of the fascinating seaside resorts. A 1-hour-train-ride will take vou to Schwerin. Passing the historic city centre we arrive at the castle. Enjoy the sight of the Castle Gardens with its impressive orangerie. Get the "royal" atmosphere where the Dukes of Mecklenburg used to live. Opportunity to visit the inside of the castle (Please note: The castle is closed for the public on Mondays!) and afterwards time for lunch. Going east-wards in the afternoon the Hanseatic town of Rostock is waiting for you. Let's have a closer look to the gothic church of St. Mary's with nearly 800 years of history. Passing alongside the Town Hall we will walk down towards the University sqare dotted with official buildings like The Guard, The Court, The University. Time for shopping before we will return to Warnemuende cruise pier.
