World War II and Cold War in Berlin - Express tour

Starting at Checkpoint Charlie, this tour will take you along the former border between the East and the West. We'll pass the former Reich's Ministry of Aviation and also get to see the place where Hitler gave his first (non-public) speech in Prussia, back in 1927.

Furthermore, we stop at the Topography of Terror with its excavations of former Gestapo prisons, where one of the last remaining sections of The Wall is still visible. Next comes Potsdamer Platz, which looks nothing like it did 100 years ago, yet is just as busy, and finally, we will reach the location of the Führer Bunker and eventually, the Holocaust Memorial.

The presence is not understandable without the past. The worst part in german history is of course the Nationalsocialist Dictatorship. We'll visit the most important areas connected to this time of persecution and murdering.

Berlin's history goes back over 800 years; beginning as a small river-side village, it then became home to the Prussian Royals and capital of the German Empire, before battling through the First and Second World Wars, to be tragically divided into East and West during the GDR.
