Join me on an alternative wintery adventure! We’ll wander through the city’s hidden, alternative neighborhoods and immerse ourselves in a unique cultural diversity. At end of the way, we’ll visit one of the coolest Christmas markets in Munich :) Even The New York Times couldn’t resist one of our highlights, the "Alte Utting", writing: IS MUNICH GETTING COOL? LOOK FOR THE BOAT ON THE BRIDGE. In addition to street art and cultural hubs made of shipping containers and wood, we’ll delve into over 700 years of history in these lesser-known districts south of the city center. Our tour takes us along the Isar River to the other side, into one of the last authentic neighborhoods, "Giesing", with its very own unique charm. Best regards, Philipp
We will meet at your hotel/accommodation if it is in the city center, or at the Piazza Zenetti if it is not. Our route will be as follows: - New Theater 'Münchner Volkstheater' - Alternative cultural hub 'Bahnwärter Thiel' - Crazy boat project 'Alte Utting' mentioned in the New York Times - Charming district 'Dreimühlenviertel' - Bridge 'Wittelsbacherbrücke' with great view over the Isar River - Bunker from WWII transformed into a residential tower - Square 'Kleinvenedig' that explains why Munich was called Venice of the North - Alternative beer garden 'Gans Woanders' As with every ToursByLocals tour, this tour is of course customisable. Please contact me using the orange 'message guide' button to discuss this. This tour does not include a stop for lunch however if you would like to factor that in please contact me. Otherwise i will be happy to recommend some amazing places for the best of Munich's cuisine.
Contact your local guide to know more!!
We will be walking at a moderate pace.
3 Zenettiplatz, München, Bayern, 80337 Germany
I will meet you on the square 'Piazza Zenetti' between the turquoise and green street furniture. I can be easily recognized by my colorful backpack and the blue folder in my hands. Getting there: It's best to take the metro U3 or U6 from the famous station 'Marienplatz' and to get off at the station 'Goetheplatz'. From there it is a 10 minutes walk to the 'Piazza Zenetti'.
