The city center of Strasbourg is one of the most beautiful city centers in Europe - and It's also called the capital of Europe. The city was founded more than 2000 years ago by the romans. During the time its nationality changed quite often (German-French / French-German. . . ) - for example: an Alsatian citizen could change his nationality 4 times during a lifetime without moving! Today the Rhine river is the border between Germany and France. I was born and raised on the german site, only a few kilometers away from Strasbourg. But not only the nationality has changed - also the architecture has changed. During our tour we'll walk through the Imperial German District with its huge and impressive buildings, the "La Petit France" area - it's the former Tanner's District - and of course we'll see the magnificent gothic Cathedral. We'll walk through very charming medieval alleys with lovely half timbered houses - so you can feel set back in time and I will show you amazing hidden places which no book shows.
Meet you at the train station in Kehl am Rhein/Germany, right next to Strasbourg or at your Hotel. Kehl/Germany is connected with the Tram system of Strasbourg/France. Enjoy the ride in one of the most modern Trams in Europe - it takes only 15 minutes to get to the city center of Strasbourg. Highlights: - Imperial German District: Kaiserplatz/Place de la République - Place Broglie - Place Kléber - La Petite France - Cathedral (outside visit only - a guided inside visit of the cathedral is possible with headsets - contact me for further information) Please notice that our route can change because of events or other reasons.
